I was recently sent this expert review of the best eyeliners, from pencils and liquid to gel and organic. They even researched the best eyeliner for your inner water-line. I agree with these pics and appreciate the thoughtful consideration given to brands across the retail spectrum. Carefully vetted by cosmetic chemists and makeup artists, they even tell you who will love and who should avoid each product.

I wasn’t surprised at all to see my go-to’s like Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil and Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Gel Eyeliner. And it was cool to read about all the organic offerings out there, too—a group I, admittedly, don’t know a lot about.

Read the full, illustrated review here and let me know if your favorites made the list.

When I was a teenager in Miami, my hair care consisted of drugstore brands like Aussie and Herbal Essence. I can still conjure the scent of those products. It’s practically Pavlovian: I get a whiff even remotely reminiscent of “botanical bliss” and I’m back to giant, crunchy diffused hair with stick straight bangs.

Once, however, I was bestowed the luxury of a giant tub of Terax Crema. Back then, it was the holy grail of smooth, expensive-looking hair. The scent was more subtle but the results were obsession-worthy.

So when I was recently sent samples of Terax’s newly formulated original, with sleek new packaging and infused with keratin, I was beyond excited to be reunited with my old hair care brand crush.

It didn’t disappoint. I am in love with this conditioner. Armed with “smart” keratin technology, it deposits the healing protein where you need it most. And because of this super duper technology, it doesn’t wash out as easily as other brands do. If your hair is chemically treated or damaged, I think you’ll love it and see softer, shinier hair after your first wash.

These recently launched cream eye shadows from Armani are amazing.

The colors are divine. The formula feels like silk and dries instantly. The pigment is rich and buildable. The staying power is impressive. (Especially with a little help from my favorite eye shadow primer.)

I bought a the plum-tinted Senso, but the line features twelve beautiful colors, ranging from straightforward neutrals to brilliant washes of spring-ready emerald and navy. Wear them alone or combine them with your favorite eye shadow palettes. You can’t go wrong.

You will love these whether you’re a pro or if you tread gently into the boundaries of makeup.

Every once in a while, there is a really exciting new breakthrough in the hair tool category. (For me, the last one was the clipless curling iron.) Now, hands down, celebrity hair stylist Harry Josh has won the prize for innovating a seriously impressive blow dryer that takes drying your own hair to the next level. Blowing air at 80mph, it is the most powerful dryer in its class. It smooths hair like no other with it’s (optional) ionic power and, at the same time, has been designed to be incredibly efficient, reducing energy use by 70%. It’s literally and figuratively green.

My long, coarse hair typically takes me thirty minutes to blow dry. That’s not counting the ten to fifteen additional minutes I spend smoothing and touching up. Drying my hair with the Harry Josh blower took half the time. And my hair looked like smooth, “day two” hair.  The dryer is not only a miracle worker on hair like mine, it does a wonderful job adding body to finer hair when the ionic option is turned off.

More details:

-It has a smaller profile than most dryers.

-It’s delightfully quiet.

-It has a super-long 9-foot cord that I love.

-Two nozzle attachments are included: one for body, one for smoothing.

-The motor is purported to last 2000 hours. (I’m not good at math, but I think this blower might outlast me.)

The dryer launched last fall for $300, but it’s currently on sale for $250—with free shipping and a complimentary hair serum with every order, through Josh’ exclusive retailer,

I am not really a mask person. I don’t have the patience. And I’ve never really been a believer that mask-ing is a necessary boost to an otherwise thorough skincare routine. So it is not a small deal that I am pronouncing Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant a total game changer.

Last week I contacted my friends over at RescueSpa because I was out of my beloved P50 toner. I asked the ever-knowledgeable Kim what I should try that I haven’t already tried and this was her “it” product. Here’s what RescueSpa’s founder, Danuta Mieloch, has to say about this mask:

“If you do Masque Vivant at least twice a week you’ll never age. This unique mask contains live yeast extracts which are packed with amino acids and famously nourishing Vitamin B. There is no product like it to keep your skin purified, revitalized and bright. In my 20 years of experience with it, I have seen it drastically improve many peoples complexions.”

Pretty convincing, right?

As someone who doesn’t believe in skin-miracles, I will tell you this is as close as I have ever come to using a product and seeing immediate, transformative results. My skin was clear, redness calmed, pores tight, complexion glowing after my first application. I’ve been using it for a week and I’m amazed. I can’t wait to see the effects of this magical mask over time.

Warning: the formula smells extremely unpleasant. It’s must be the yeast. I can’t even really describe the scent without using expletives. But it’s worth it, I swear.

P.S. The one other mask I swear by before a night out.
